Position: Director of Business Development
Job Description:
Director of Business Development - Circle Computer Group, Inc. Beverly, MA. Director of Business Development is responsible for account management and new business development. Responsible for promoting the sale of Circle’s database software products within the United States, developing strategy and business plans to maximize revenue, and overseeing the company’s business development and sales staff. Director of Business Development reports directly to the company’s Group Managing Director, as well as to the Board of Directors.
To fulfil these responsibilities, the Director of Business Development’s duties shall include:
- Managing and developing ongoing relationships with existing customer accounts, ensuring that all customers are properly licensed and, where necessary, negotiating new contracts in accordance with company policy;
- Developing and implementing sales and marketing campaigns for the sale of Circle software products and consultancy services tools within the US, in accordance with Circle policy and budget;
- Identifying prospective clients and marketplaces for Circle’s products and services;
- Establishing and maintaining working relationships with sales branches of IBM to promote Circle products;
- Representing Circle to other similar companies in the marketplace;
- Individually and in partnership with the Company’s sales agents, organizing and implementing web-based sales conferences;
- Developing the project plans to provide a migration path to customers’ chosen databases and implementing Circle’s products, and managing customer migration projects through completion; and
- Hiring, firing and promoting Circle sales and marketing staff as needed.
Job Requirements:
Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, or a related field, or the equivalent in education and experience, and must have at least three years experience in a comparable position. Excellent knowledge of IBM mainframe databases, to include knowledge of IMS, DB2, VSAM, as well as UNIX and IBM mainframes, and a proven track record of sales in this field are essential. Must be willing to travel within the US and overseas.
